Halifax Shopping Centre has been a GetintheLoop partner since last fall. We recently learned they won Silver in the Impact category at the 2021 International Council of Shopping Centres MAXI Awards in New York for their partnership and launch promotion with GetintheLoop.
Halifax Shopping Centre (HSC) is the premier shopping destination in Eastern Canada. It’s a three-level shopping center that hosts exclusive retailers to the region, including Apple, Aritzia, Browns, Michael Kors, and Zara.
The MAXI Awards showcase the creative and innovative practices that point to the future of the shopping center industry.
With the pandemic, many consumers turned online, and there was an increased need to drive traffic back to the property to support and maintain their key retail mix. HSC knew they wanted to have a presence on consumers’ mobile phones to attract and convert them back to in-person shoppers.
HSC exceeded all expectations for their GetintheLoop partnership launch, and now they’ve been recognized for their initiative.
HSC placed Silver in the Impact category, which “awards a groundbreaking initiative, technology, event, or integrated marketing campaign that delivered outstanding sales, traffic, impressions, engagement, and ROI. Submissions may include but are not limited to events, sales promotions, PR initiatives, retailer onboarding programs, or digital media campaigns.”
Closures had significantly impacted retailers in the spring, and Halifax Shopping Centre saw this as an opportunity to help digitally connect their merchant tenants with customers. Their tenants agreed as 72% chose to participate.
GetintheLoop helped HSC connect with customers in their primary target market via GetintheLoop’s app, website, email, social media channels, and push notifications. HSC hosted their own “Loop,” which provides for additional exposure on the app’s homepage and makes it easier for customers to discover HSC merchants.
HSC also uses GetintheLoop’s Live Offers Feed to amplify their tenant offers on the shopping center’s website. Website visitors love the ever-changing content, and the mall merchants appreciate the added exposure.
HSC promoted the partnership in other digital channels, took advantage of in-app contesting, involved influencers, and leveraged on-site promotion opportunities like signage and vinyl floor decals.
