May Long is fast approaching, do you have plans yet?! Whether you’re staying in town, or are planning on spending the weekend away, we’re here to ensure you don’t spend your weekend scrolling through Instagram with FOMO.

Vancouver Island

Get the family together on Saturday and book a whale watching tour with Victoria’s oldest and most respected whale watching company! It’s not everyday you get to see whales breaching in the wild! We’re guaranteed that jaws will drop, no matter your age!

Looking to see some wildlife on a smaller scale? Visit The Victoria Bug Zoo! It’s guaranteed to be a hit with the kids, and we’ve heard that even the most skeptic of visitors have a great time!

Want to just get away from it all? Book a staycation on the island! Head to Tofino for a relaxing beach getaway!

Vancouver

Start your weekend outside! Drive to Abbotsford for the last weekend of the Bloom Tulip Festival! If you forget to pack a picnic, don’t worry, there are food trucks on site! You’re guaranteed to get some beautiful pictures, and you can even bring a bouquet of tulips home for that special someone (or yourself, we won’t tell!)

On Sunday, get out of the city and head to the 130th Cloverdale Rodeo and Country Fair. Watch the rodeo, go on some amusement rides, and of course, eat some mini donuts!

Keep the country theme rolling, and dance the night away at The Roxy for Country Night. Arrive before 10pm and redeem your GetintheLoop offer for free cover!

Wrap up the long weekend with dinner at Colony Bar Main in Mount Pleasant. After 3pm, use your GetintheLoop app to receive 20% off your food!

Okanagan

The view never gets old, hike up Knox Mountain with your four-legged friend for sweeping views of Kelowna. Stop at Paul’s Tomb or make it all the way to the top!

Stop in at BNA’s tasting room on your way back from Knox for happy hour. The best part: Their craft beer. The second best part: The tasting room is dog friendly and they even have homemade dog treats!

Take it easy on Monday and play a round of golf at Okanagan Golf Club. Browse our Golf Loop for exclusive offers at your favourite golf course.

Southern Alberta

Turn off your phone, head to Round Table Board Gamerie, and enjoy some satisfying food and drinks while you play board games! It’s a great spot for Date Night or for a fun (and competitive) night with friends!

Stop in at Telegraph Tap House for Beerogies! Yes, you heard that right. Beer and perogies. We couldn’t come up with a better combination if we tried. Who ever thought of this truly deserves an award.

Take some time to just relax! Stop at Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden on Monday and spend the afternoon enjoying some peace and quiet. On Monday you can also take part in the yukata dressing ceremony, take a tour of the garden, or have a 20 minute reflexology session!

Edmonton

Go on an adult field trip with Edmonton Brewery Tours! Visit local distilleries or breweries and learn how your favourite beverages are made and, of course, enjoy samples along the way!

Grab 14 of your closest friends and book an Urban Pedal Tour! Pedal through town and stop at 3 unique breweries to fuel your ride!

Spring has sprung! We heard that this is the year you’re going to finally get that garden going! Visit the Enjoy Centre in St. Albert to turn your thumb green.

Chances are that time will get away from you while you’re outside planting your new garden. Wrap up May Long with a stress-free and always satisfying dinner from Boston Pizza.

There you have it! Your long weekend is guaranteed to be jam packed with adventures and delicious food, what more could you ask for? Before you head out the door, make sure you download the GetintheLoop app to take advantage of exclusive offers and experiences (including some in this post!)

The Penticton Vees Partner with GetintheLoop

September 12th, 2017 Posted by blog, Company, Okanagan, Things To Do No Comment yet

As Canadians, Hockey is pretty much in our blood from birth, it’s a right of passage, a way of life. Today we are excited to announce our newest partnership with the Penticton Vees, the defending BCHL Junior A Champions. Although it is commonly thought by many that the name “Vees” has to do with Victory, the name actually represents the 3 types of local peaches (Vedette, Valiant, and Veteran). Famous NHL alumni include Paul Kariya, Duncan Keith, Brett Hull, Ray Ferraro, Dante Fabbro, Tyson Jost and more!

Founder and CEO, Matt Crowell and Director of Enterprise Accounts, Mitch Carefoot both played professional hockey in the United States and overseas, showing that our love for hockey runs deep at GetintheLooop and our team members are Canadian to the core too! This couldn’t be a more perfect partnership.

With the recent partnership, GetintheLoop members will now receive special Penticton Vees offers directly to their mobile device before and after every home game.

“We want to keep pushing the envelope on our fan experience, and we felt strongly that GITL could help us achieve that for the fans of Vee’s nation. We’re excited to partner with GITL and launch some exciting new products that will make it easier than ever before for our fans to watch the Vees and get great value from some of our other partners here in Penticton” said Vees Director of Corporate Partnerships, David Michaud.

Outside the rink, GetintheLoop and the Penticton Vee’s are committed to combining their efforts to benefit the Vees fans, members of GetintheLoop and the community of Penticton (and surrounding area).

  • All GetintheLoop members whether local or visiting will be able to enjoy Family nights out, Boys nights out and holiday specials and more crafted by The Penticton Vee’s! No pre-purchase or printing needed, just show the GetintheLoop offer from your phone, it’s that easy.
  • For businesses, GetintheLoop attracts new customers, increase brand awareness, and increases loyalty with offers. The Vees and GetintheLoop are working with businesses in and around the SOEC and in downtown Penticton to create great experiences like a great dinner at Match followed by an awesome experience at a Vees home game. Join the community with both the Penticton Vee’s and GetintheLoop by giving us a call!

It’s shaping up to be a great hockey season for the Vees, as they start off the 2017-18 season defending their fourth BCHL Championship in the last ten years. With a perfect 4-0 preseason record, the Vees showed no sign of slowing down in the regular season with a 4-2 win over Merritt this past weekend.

The team at GetintheLoop is happy to see what is in-store for the partnership moving forward. Go Vees Go!
