With two new franchisees focusing on the North Okanagan and Penticton, Okanagan residents from one end of the lake to the other will soon have access to more offers and experiences at local businesses in their community, delivered directly to their phones.

Currently, GetintheLoop members across BC and Alberta enjoy access to offers and experiences at restaurants, hotels, sporting events, golf courses, wineries, and so much more!

Why do our members love the GetintheLoop app? They get to discover new businesses in their city, never prepay for an offer, and experience more for less. And it’s so easy – simply show the offer in-store and redeem the offer on the spot.

We are so excited to grow this mobile experience within the Okanagan that we decided to launch a giveaway. When Okanagan residents sign up to be a GetintheLoop member (it’s free), they’ll be automatically entered to win up to $500 in prizes from local businesses. Contest and entry details are posted on our on Facebook page. Make sure you follow us to stay up to date on contest details, new business partners, and announcements!

Sign up to be a GetintheLoop member HERE.

Since it’s beginning in 2014, GetintheLoop has grown into the top-rated iOS and Android application of its kind in Canada, used by hundreds of top national and local brands.

“It’s an exciting time! With the expansion of GetintheLoop Local, our franchise division, we can’t wait for local businesses to be able to reach more Okanagan residents through our mobile platform,” said GetintheLoop founder and CEO, Matt Crowell.

GetintheLoop is an intelligent mobile marketing platform that connects businesses with local consumers. The online offers platform allows businesses to deliver real-time experiences and exclusive offers directly to the mobile phones of engaged consumers, enabling businesses to attract new customers, develop meaningful relationships and obtain immediate in-depth data on their behaviour.

The GetintheLoop network reaches millions of Western Canadians every month and connects tens of thousands of members with exclusive offers in over 30 cities across Western Canada.

Partner Spotlight: HydroFly Kelowna

June 18th, 2018 Posted by blog, Okanagan, Things To Do No Comment yet

We’re pretty confident that, at one point or another, everyone has wanted to be a superhero. What if we told you that your chance to rise up like Iron Man and zoom around the sky was just down the road at the Downtown Marina in Kelowna?

After coming to Canada in 2011, Flyboarding is gaining popularity as an extreme water sport. Powered by a hose that pumps water from a jetski, a flyboarder is strapped into boots and a small board, which allows them to rise out of the water and fly. Kind of like a superhero…

Needless to say, the GetintheLoop team was intrigued, so we decided to head out on the lake and try it out for ourselves!

Mike Prince, the owner of Hydrofly and a professional flyboarder himself, quickly suited us up with wetsuits, helmets, and life jackets, before we hopped into the boat and left the marina.

After a short lesson in the boat about how to get started and what to expect, we were in the lake. The water propelling the flyboarder from the lake shoots out of jets attached to the board below your feet. This water stream is controlled by the instructor on the jetski, so you never need to worry about having too little or too much power.

Within a few minutes, and on the second attempt, we were out of the water. Mike was just a few feet away the entire time, controlling the

jetski and providing instructions. When you start to fall, the instructor lessens the power so you don’t shoot into the water (this was one of our biggest fears).

By the end of our session we had the hang of it. We were able to rise out of the water, move forward through the air, and turn left and right. Overall, flyboarding was a lot easier than we expected! The trick is definitely to stay relaxed and not try too hard or force the movements.

Mike and his team were great throughout the entire experience. It was fun, exhilarating, and we never felt unsafe or out of control. It’s an activity people of all skill levels can master quickly.

Want to try flyboarding yourself? We’re giving away one individual flyboarding experience, including a photo package, AND a tshirt! Check out our facebook post for your chance to win!

Winery Spotlight: Covert Farms

June 18th, 2018 Posted by blog, Okanagan, Wine No Comment yet

Nestled in the hills of Oliver, BC, Covert Farms is a 4th generation family farm and winery, sprawling over 650 acres.

Proudly an organic estate, Covert Farms uses a natural fermentation process to focus on the vineyard and fruit, and minimally intervenes during the wine making process. All of Covert Farms wines are made using organic grapes that are grown on their farm. To control pest insects on their farm, Covert has released Ladybugs, who happily return year after year. You can learn more about Covert Farms’ harvesting process throughout the season, including why they planted Sunflowers to control grape-eating birds, HERE. Covert Farm’s wine portfolio currently includes a Roussanne/Viognier, Sauvignon Blanc/Semillon, Rosé, and their proprietary red blends, The Bluff, MDC and the iconic, Amicitia.

The Covert Farms property is also home to Seacrest Organic Produce. After turning their focus to winemaking in 2014, the Covert’s leased the management of their organic produce to Seacrest Organics. Available for purchase, or you can pick-it-yourself, Seacrest Organics only offers in season produce, with their goal being to support a healthy community and help to grow agri-tourism within the South Okanagan.

You can learn more about Covert Farms on a guided tour. Take a ride in a vintage 1952 Mercury truck as you drive through the farm, enjoy some organic produce, and of course, sample some wine! You’ll get to pick your own strawberries, feed the long-horned cows, and snack on some charcuterie, while you taste different wines.

Covert Farms is also licensed to hold weddings, concerts, corporate events, and intimate dinners! A popular destination thanks to its secluded location and acres of natural landscape for photos. As an added bonus, Covert Farms has an extra large inflatable trampoline on their property, which is guaranteed to loosen anyone up and put a smile on their face!

Want to experience this magical farm in the middle of Canada’s desert for yourself? Visit them at 300 Covert Place in Oliver, BC. They’re open 7 days a week from 11:00 – 5:00.
