Tell us about your business:

Swan Lake Nurseryland, Fruit Market and Garden Centre is a family owned and operated business in Vernon BC. Considered a landmark by generations of satisfied customers, Swan Lake Nurseryland has operated from the same location on Highway 97 since 1959. Our business has two core services; providing exceptional products and advice for the home gardener and marketing fresh local produce in season. In addition to these core services we also offer a bakery and deli, floral shop, ladies fashions

What is the one thing you would like people to know about your business?

We strongly support local products and do our best to source as much of our produce, plant material and other products from local and BC producers.

What made you want to get into this business?

The business has been operating for 60 years in one form or another from the same location. It’s family so the choice was easy!

What’s your favourite part about managing this business?

Knowing that we are supporting people to grow their own plants and plant foods of all kinds, which in turn is good for our environment and doing so by supporting local supplier wherever possible.

When you’re not running your business what is your favourite thing to do?

Ski, snowboarding and mountain biking with family and friends. I also like to be the front man in our blues band The Bagdaddies!
