Partner Spotlight: Serendipity Yoga

September 25th, 2020 Posted by blog, Ontario No Comment yet

Partner Spotlights are our way to shine a light on some of our amazing local partners across the country and give them a platform to tell their unique story. Janice & Jeff, Yogapreneurs & Owners of Serendipity Yoga in Prince Edward County, want to share theirs!

Tell us about your business:

We offer in-studio, special event, and online yoga classes for everybody and every body.
Our yoga class offering encompasses various styles including Hatha, Yin, Restorative, Vinyasa, Yoga Nidra, Meditation and Ashtanga-inspired.

What is one thing you would like people to know about your business?

We have had the opportunity to learn from, and practice with, many wonderful individuals and our goal is to follow in their footsteps in creating an atmosphere and environment of acceptance and welcome.

What made you want to get into business here?

The goal of Serendipity Yoga is to assist others in finding mindfulness one pose and one breath at a time.

We started practicing yoga after having completed our first half marathon and we quickly realized the physical and mental benefits of yoga. We incorporated our practice into our day to day life as an effective method of cross-training, to strengthen and tone, as well as increasing flexibility to reduce the risk of injury. As we then began to deepen our practice we decided to complete our teacher training so that we could share our love of (and the mental and physical benefits of) yoga with others.

We grew up in Prince Edward County and have had the privilege of guiding yoga in partnership with local businesses. When we decided to open our home studio it only made sense that Serendipity Yoga would begin here.

What’s your favourite part about owning or managing the business?

Meeting so many people and getting to know them on different levels. Seeing their practices expand to a point where they have more tools available to help them feel better physically and mentally is incredibly rewarding.
We have had the great fortune to create friendships with many of those who started as clients.
