Partner Spotlight: oGo Float

Partner Spotlights are our way to shine a light on some of our amazing local partners across the country and give them a platform to tell their unique story.

Tell us about your business:

oGo Float offers two float tanks from our home based float studio. oGo Float is built with love, no detail overlooked. Floating weightlessly on a bed of warm silky water is one of the most relaxing things you’ll ever do! It doesn’t just feel amazing, it’s clinically proven to increase your well-being. Floating can be used for healing, meditation, problem-solving, creative thinking, and so much more. Floating has no gender, no age, no face or social status, we meet people from all walks of life.

What is the one thing you would like people to know about your business?

Floating isn’t new. It’s a powerful tool backed by 50+ years of peer-reviewed published studies (visit ClinicalFloat.com to see the science). Don’t believe everything you see on TV, float tanks are not scary or confining at all. The float tanks are housed in their own private room and you are in complete control at all times. We encourage people to wear comfy clothes and be prepared to #RelaxHarder at oGo Float.

What made you want to get into this business?

Floating has had a massively positive impact on our quality of life and we knew we would be floaters for the rest of our lives, so we had to find a way to make that happen. After five long years of planning, saving, begging, and building we finally opened oGo Float in November 2018.

What’s your favourite part about owning this business?

Our favorite part about oGo Float is all the really neat people we get to meet and hear their stories. We meet soon-to-be mothers looking to reduce swelling and pressure from their joints and muscles. We meet entrepreneurs who float to brainstorm business goals and marketing strategies. We meet athletes who float to improve muscle tone and control and to help them mentally prepare for competition. We meet nurses and care aids who use floating to combat the pressures of a physically demanding job with crazy shifting sleep schedules, and we meet people who work high stress, high accountability, fast-paced jobs who float to manage stress and analyze decisions from multiple angles empowering them to make the best decisions possible.

What local business would you like to see on GetintheLoop?

We appreciate all the experience based businesses we have in Penticton. Especially when it comes to gifts, we all have enough stuff. It’s far more valuable to show people you love them with the gift of an unforgettable experience. So we’d like to see things like Loco Landing, Desmios Escape Rooms, Glow SUP, Coyote Cruises, and HooDoo Adventures featured on GetintheLoop.

Is there a community cause or event that you support that you would like to give a shoutout to?

We help various causes with donations for silent auctions and enjoy supporting the Discovery House through participation in the Okanagan BeardFest each year.

When you’re not running your business what is your favourite thing to do?

When we’re not busy hosting floats our favorite thing to do is obviously to FLOAT! We maintain steady float practices, but when we’re not floating we enjoy all that the Okanagan has to offer! Visiting with friends, concerts at the SOEC, yoga, paddle boarding, touring wineries and local brew shops, and lake time swimming with our dog.

At GetintheLoop, we love our partners and love being able to share their local story. Check out all of oGo Float’s offers here. Want to learn more about joining the GetintheLoop community? Get in touch with our team here.
