According to Charles Duhigg, all habits start with a 3-step psychological pattern called a “habit loop.” The first step is where a cue prompts your brain to let a certain behavior unfold. The second step is recognizing the routine this behavior creates. The third step is the reward, or “something that your brain likes that helps it remember the ‘habit loop’ in the future.”
